As the number of cases of COVID-19 increases, we remind you:
Patients who met the definition of a confirmed case of COVID-19 are considered non-contagious (non-infectious):
1) after 5 days of treatment, if the RNA fragments of the pathogen are not detected in them by the PCR method (negative result);
2) in the absence of clinical manifestations of an acute respiratory disease after 5 days from the date of appearance of symptoms without laboratory examination.
The listed criteria are equivalent. Any of them can be used to make a decision to end inpatient treatment.
Non-contagious (non-infectious) patients, in the case of the need for continued inpatient treatment, should be transferred to departments / other health care facilities in accordance with the nosology that requires continued inpatient treatment.
A doctor who provides medical care in an inpatient setting must inform the disease prevention control center of the Ministry of Health by administrative and territorial jurisdiction about the outcome (outcome) of the disease of persons who were subject to the determination of a confirmed case of COVID-19 no later than 3 days after the date when he will become known (date of discharge / date of death).
