Ukrainian plate of healthy food

Today, the Lviv Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine presents the Ukrainian Healthy Food Plate.

There are 5 sectors on the Ukrainian Plate. Each sector represents the most useful food products that should be in our diet every day:

· The first and largest sector is vegetables. In the above image, the most popular Ukrainian vegetables are beets, carrots, onions and garlic, pumpkin, cabbage and zucchini, cucumbers and tomatoes, and others. This segment also includes legumes - our traditional peas and beans, as well as chickpeas, which are less popular so far.

· The second segment clockwise is fruits - apples, pears, apricots, plums and bananas, oranges, which are not so exotic for us. In the same segment, it is very important not to forget about berries, which should also be in our diet every day - strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, currants, blackberries and others.

· The third sector - dairy and fermented milk products.

· The fourth sector is whole grain products. We draw your attention to WHOLE grains, i.e. products made from whole grains, which contain both the germ and the shell, in which substances useful for us remain. First of all, these are various cereals. Bread and loaves are in the same segment, but also preferably whole grain, and not just sprinkled on top

grains And pasta products are also made from whole grains or hard varieties. Nuts and seeds are also in this segment.

· The last, fifth segment - fish, meat and eggs
