About measles vaccines

Vaccination against measles has been carried out for more than 50 years. Between 2000 and 2016 alone, vaccines saved about 20.3 million children's lives worldwide.

Currently, Ukraine uses a three-component CPC vaccine that provides protection against three diseases at once: measles, mumps, and rubella. At least 95% of children in the country should be vaccinated with two doses of the PKK vaccine to ensure reliable protection against measles, according to the recommendation of the World Health Organization, an authoritative public health organization. The presence of a child with bronchial asthma, diabetes or other chronic diseases is just an indication for vaccination. Such babies need vaccination first of all, because the risk of developing serious complications after the disease is much higher for them.

PDA vaccines available in Ukraine are prequalified by the World Health Organization. They are safe and effective. The state guarantees free vaccination of PDA for children within the framework of the National calendar of preventive vaccinations.

What to do if there is no measles vaccine in the hospital?

First of all, contact the head of the medical facility. If he/she cannot provide the required information, contact your local health department or the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. They are responsible for the distribution of vaccines within the region. To find out whether the vaccine has reached your region, you can contact the contact center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine at the number: 0 800 60 20 19.
