Outbreak of acute intestinal infection


11 people, including 9 children under the age of 17, with a primary diagnosis of "acute intestinal infection" from the number of internally displaced persons temporarily living in the modular town of Lviv were hospitalized in the Lviv Regional Infectious Diseases Clinical Hospital. They came in with complaints of nausea, vomiting, increased body temperature, frequent loose stools in a state of medium severity. During an active examination by medical workers of the residents of the town and during the collection of epidanamnesis, another 21 patients with a mild course were found, of which 12 were children under 17 years of age. These patients are isolated and remain on outpatient treatment under the supervision of doctors from one of the city polyclinics in Lviv. A complex of medical and diagnostic measures and anti-epidemic measures is implemented. The premises in the town have been disinfected. The investigation is ongoing. A total of 32 people fell ill, including 21 children under the age of 17. In order to find out the causes and take appropriate response measures, doctors and nurses from one of the polyclinics in Lviv, employees of the Lviv Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health, the State Department of Production and Consumer Service in Lviv Region, UOZ LMR and DOZ LOD are working in the outbreak. The hospital provides patients with a full range of medical and diagnostic facilities.
