MAY 17 – WORLD HYPERTENSION DAY

"Know your blood pressure" - the slogan of World Hypertension Day in 2023

Hypertension is a condition in which blood vessels constantly experience increased pressure.

The insidiousness of the disease is that most people do not show any symptoms, which is why it is called the "silent killer".

According to statistics, more than 12 million Ukrainians suffer from high blood pressure.

Arterial hypertension (hypertensive disease) is one of the most common chronic diseases in the world, in particular, in Ukraine.

To detect arterial hypertension, it is necessary to know its signs:

- headache (most often in the occipital or parietal part)

- nausea

- periodic tinnitus, darkening of the eyes and dizziness

- pain in the area of the heart

- increased heart rate

For some time, patients may be unaware of their illness, have no complaints, and be highly active, although sometimes attacks of nausea, severe weakness, and dizziness may occur. But even then, many believe that all this is due to overwork.

Therefore, you should periodically measure your blood pressure in order to detect the disease at an early stage and take preventive measures in time.

High blood pressure without proper treatment can lead to heart attack, stroke, kidney or heart failure, vision impairment and other complications.
