How to find "your" psychologist

Finding a specialist whom you can trust and open up to is not an easy task. We have put together an algorithm for you that will help you find your way and choose a psychologist with whom work will be effective.

Psychotherapy is a trust zone, and if you don't like something, it's best to discuss it with your therapist. If you are afraid or can't, then it is unlikely that your interaction is going correctly.

Many people find "their" specialists based on recommendations from acquaintances and colleagues. This method has the right to exist, but keep in mind that we are all different, and therefore, the specialist that suited your friend may not suit you at all.

Pay attention to the education of a specialist. A psychologist must have a higher education in the field of "Psychology", and a psychiatrist must have a medical education in general, because he can prescribe drug treatment.

Look for reviews about the specialist on the Internet.

Don't be afraid to try, you may not find contact with the first specialist, and that's okay. Arrange a trial appointment and think about whether you were comfortable, and whether what the specialist said and promised you was acceptable and useful for you.
