From now on, not only people with a medical education will be able to donate blood, but also military personnel who have undergone appropriate training. The relevant resolution was adopted by the Government.
For this, the Ministry of Health is expanding a special educational program on the basics of transfusion therapy.
This training will allow combat medics to acquire the necessary skills in transfusion of universal first minus blood group. It will be possible to pass it on the basis of designated blood centers.
Such a training program fully complies with NATO standards. In the countries of the Alliance, it is considered the norm to teach blood transfusions to combat medics without medical education. In Norway and in general, even ordinary fighters have the right to transfuse blood.
❝ In civilian life, we can deliver a person with critical blood loss to the hospital in 15 minutes, but war dictates its conditions. We have to respond to the challenges of war as effectively as possible to ensure all the necessary conditions and opportunities to save the lives of the wounded ❞, - says Minister of Health Viktor Liashko.
Only by rough estimates, the introduction of a mechanism for providing donor blood to the front and relevant educational programs on the basics of transfusion therapy will allow to significantly reduce the percentage of preventable deaths on the battlefield related to blood loss. After all, a timely transfusion of whole blood allows you to save time for transporting the injured person to the nearest hospital!
